Sam Kiszka is one of the founding members of Greta Van Fleet (GVF), an American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan. The 25 years old has been the bass guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocals of the band since it was founded in 2012. Sam is 5 feet 7 inches (170 cm) tall and was once in a relationship with Joy Powell.
Alongside Kyle Hauck and his older twin brothers, Josh and Jake Kiszka, Sam founded Greta Van Fleet in 2012 and it has been the sole factor driving his fame. Hauck who was the original drummer left the band in October 2013 and the Kiszka brothers replaced him with their friend, Danny Wagner. The hard rock band gained mainstream recognition in 2017 after they got signed to Lava Records.

It was on the 3rd of April 1999 that Sam Kiszka was born and his place of birth was in Frankenmuth, Michigan, where he was also raised alongside a sister and his older twin brother, Josh and Jake Kiszka. From what we gathered, he was born into a musical family as his father is a professional musician.
The man influenced his twin sons to do music and his wife Karen Kiszka nudged their youngest son, Sam, to join his older brothers. As the story goes, Josh and Jake were doing music with some drummers from their high school jazz band and their mother pressured Sam into joining them.
Jake showed Sam the basic thing to play on bass guitar and that was it. Sam Kiszka was only 13 years old and he has been playing bass since then. Just over four years after he started playing, he and other band members of GVF were thrust into the limelight.
He Was 19 Years Old When He Received His First Grammy Awards
Most people would agree that the Grammy is the most coveted award in the music industry. It is a big deal to be nominated for this award let alone to win it. Having that in mind, it is remarkable that Sam Kiszka received the prestigious award alongside his bandmates when he was 19 years old.
In 2019, his band was nominated for four Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, Best Rock Performance for “Highway Tune”, Best Rock Song for “Black Smoke Rising”, and Best Rock Album for From the Fires which they won.
Sam has been very laid-back about this feat, he once expressed that what matters is how satisfied he and his band members are with their work. “…You can give us a Grammy and that doesn’t mean all that much to us,” he said.

Several platforms have reported that the Greta Van Fleet Bass guitarist is 5 feet 7 inches tall. Looking at his pictures, one would describe him as a tall fellow but if he truly stands at 5’7, then he is 2 inches off the average height of men in his country.
Credible sources have it that the average height for men in the United States of America is 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm). Based on that, it wouldn’t be out of place to assert that Sam Kiszka is not as tall as most men in the United States. Nonetheless, that depends on if his height is truly 5 feet 7 inches.

Sam Kiszka and Joy Powell Are No Longer In a Relationship
It is no secret that the Greta Van Fleet bass guitarist and Joy Powell began dating in 2017, what most people don’t know is that they have parted ways. Joy Powell is a model with thousands of followers on her Instagram page. When she met Sam at a music festival in 2017, he was in a relationship with a young woman named Carmen. Carmen and Sam, according to some reports, have been dating since they were in high school.
Not long after Sam and Joy met, the guitarist broke up with Carmen and it paved way for him to pursue a romance with Powell. GVF fans enthusiastically followed Sam Kiszka and Joy Powell’s relationship while it lasted. The two were considered a perfect match but what they had wasn’t perfect. They broke up in late 2021 and it was a dramatic separation that saw Joy’s cousin defend her over cheating allegations.
Sam unfollowed Joy online and their pictures have been removed from each other’s social media pages. As of February 2022, Sam Kiszka is believed to be single.
